NDIS Code of Conduct

The NDIS Code of Conduct sets out clear standards for all providers and workers delivering NDIS supports and services. It ensures that people with disability are treated with respect, dignity, and fairness.

What the Code Requires

NDIS providers and workers must:

  • Respect the individual rights of people with disability to freedom of expression, self-determination, and decision-making.

  • Respect the privacy of people with disability.

  • Provide supports and services in a safe and competent manner, with care and skill.

  • Act with integrity, honesty, and transparency.

  • Promptly take steps to raise and act on concerns about matters that may impact the quality and safety of supports and services.

  • Take reasonable steps to prevent and respond to all forms of violence, exploitation, neglect, and abuse.

  • Take reasonable steps to prevent and respond to sexual misconduct.

  • Not supply goods or services at unfairly high prices without reasonable justification.

Who Must Follow the Code?

The Code applies to:

  • All NDIS registered providers.

  • Unregistered providers delivering NDIS supports and services.

  • Workers employed or otherwise engaged by providers.

  • Providers and workers delivering Commonwealth-funded aged care services under the NDIS.

Why It Matters

The Code of Conduct protects the rights of people with disability and promotes safe, high-quality services. It is designed to strengthen trust, safeguard wellbeing, and ensure fair practices within the disability sector.

Raising Concerns

If you are concerned that the Code of Conduct has been breached, you can make a complaint to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. All complaints are handled with fairness, respect, and confidentiality.
